Benjamin C. Randolph, MBA, CPA, CFE, CICA
Professional Biography
Ben has over 25 years experience as
a professional accountant. He graduated from Ohio University with
Honors and was commissioned as an Officer in the United States Air
Force where he served four years as a Strategic Air Command combat
officer responsible for the command, control and potential launch of
10 nuclear armed Minuteman II Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles.
While serving in the Air Force, Ben attended graduate school at the
University of Montana completing his Master’s Degree in Business
Administration.
Ben’s accounting and business career
began when he became a Financial Controller with Container
Corporation of America, a subsidiary of Mobil Oil, at their
Wabash, Indiana facility. While with CCA, Ben was responsible for
a $40 million annual budget and supervised all aspects of the
accounting function. He also performed internal audits of other
CCA installations and served briefly as the Corporate Controller.
Ben departed CCA in search of
a more “exciting” career. He served for several years as a Special
Agent with the United States Treasury, Internal Revenue Service,
where he conducted complex financial fraud investigations targeting
organized crime figures. Ben was directly responsible for the
recovery of over $100 million in seized crime figure assets and the
incarceration of many top level organized crime figures. As part of
his duties with the US Treasury, during Presidential campaign years,
he served with the United States Secret Service. In this position
he had the honor of serving on Presidential protection details for
Presidents Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan.
After his tenure with the IRS, Ben
purchased a small public accounting practice in Belpre, Ohio. Over
the next several years Ben was able to grow his business into five
offices in four states with annual revenues approaching $750,000.
During this same period, Ben became a University Professor teaching
advanced and graduate level accounting including federal tax
classes. Ben also served as an Associate Dean for the School of
Workforce Development at Grand Rapids Community College where he was
responsible for the development and implementation of both credit
and non-credit courses in business, accounting, and other closely
related academic areas.
Ben has specialized knowledge and
experience in Financial Statement Auditing, Fraud Audits and
Investigations, General Accounting, Federal Taxation at all levels
and Small Business Consulting.
Ben holds
professional certifications as a Certified Public Accountant,
Certified Fraud Examiner and Certified Internal Controls Auditor.
Sharon L. Randolph, MBA, CICA
Professional Biography
With over 25 years of manufacturing
accounting experience, a Masters of Business Administration and
professional certification as a Certified Internal Controls Auditor,
Sharon has a unique blend of “real world” accounting and theoretical
knowledge that allows her to solve just about any accounting issue a
client might encounter. Sharon’s forte is in systems and process
management along with business startups.
Sharon’s business career began in
1978 with Barth Industries, a Cleveland based manufacturing firm,
specializing in custom machine building. While at Barth, she worked
with Mapics and JD Edwards software and implemented new IT systems
which dramatically improved performance. Sharon also implemented
new payroll systems that interfaced with production software.
In 1999 Sharon accepted the position
of Assistant Controller/Financial Accounting Manager at Zircoa, Inc,
Solon, Ohio. Zircoa manufactured thermal engineered ceramics used
in the manufacture of steel, glass and other products. Zircoa was
voted as one of the top 100 companies to work for in Northeast Ohio.
While at Zircoa, Sharon wrote the operations manuals for customer
service, purchasing, and accounting. By implementing a new physical
inventory system, Sharon saved Zircoa over a quarter million dollars
in recurring inventory losses. She also identified and solved a
fraudulent and abusive time clock punch process used by
hourly employees. This resulted in an estimated 100,000 dollars
annual savings in payroll costs.
Sharon accepted a position as
Controller at the Holland, Michigan facility for BBi Enterprises
Group, Inc., a tier one automotive supply company. At BBi, Sharon
was able to initiate many cost savings procedures. Her major
accomplishment while at BBi was the establishment and management of
their China Global Distribution Center
Sharon holds a BA degree with an
accounting concentration from West Virginia University and earned
her MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University where she distinguished
herself among her peers by being voted “Outstanding Professional”.
